The animal kingdom generally responds beautifully to flower essences. Like people, animals experience a range of emotions. Unfortunately, at times these can be distressful and unpleasant. Enter flower essences! Essences can be easily be used for a variety of emotional difficulties animals experience.
Flower essences are especially wonderful for our pets in that pets often can’t rationalise what is going on around them. Think of the dog who gets ignored because his owner has just lost his job. The dog of course isn’t to know the cause of his owner’s aloofness, yet can feel confused, anxious and hurt. In such an instance a variety of flower essences could be given to the dog for his distress and pain.
Pets / animals also often “sponge up” the “vibes” in their immediate environment e.g. yours! Thankfully, this too can be addressed by flower essences thus enabling animals to be less affected by environmental influences.
To care for an animal, it is helpful to observe the animal and learn how to distinguish between normal regular behaviour and behaviour that is unusual and out of balance.
Pets often reflect the emotions of the people close to them and the environment in which they live. Emotions such as fear or anxiety or worry or depression can lead to dis-ease because they deplete the physical body of its natural vitality, thereby compromising the immune system’s ability to function properly.
By using the appropriate Flower Essences to balance emotional attitudes, subtle changes occur that bring renewed energy forward and short circuit the path to illness. We have organized our flower essence formulas so that it is easy to select the appropriate Pet Essence. Don’t worry about choosing an inappropriate essence. They will not harm animals, or people, as they are self correcting- meaning that there are no unwanted side effects. Sometimes there are responses that may seem surprising but that is because each creature has a personal way of making changes in their own being.
Flower essences are easy to use and are very economical. My stock bottles can be diluted with water or used directly out of the bottle, they are formulated from flowers infused in water and preserved in brandy, put a dropper full of this diluted essence in drinking water 4x a day or as needed. Put them in drinking water, directly in mouth, or drop on paws. You can put them in a spray bottle and spray an animal’s kennel, sleeping area or coat. Put in bath water. Rub into your hands and pet the animal! In a time of stress, a crisis, or after an accident, it is best to give EMERGENCY , every few seconds or every few minutes until the situation changes. Carry this combination with you at all times. You never know when an emergency will occur.
Our pets deserve the best care we can give them. We need to ensure they have a nutritious diet, proper medical care, and sufficient exercise. Meeting their emotional needs is however all important. By addressing negative emotional patterns, flower essences are just one step to ensure our pets / animals lead a happier, healthier life.
Do herbal and homeopathic remedies work on pets?
“In the wild, animals instinctively seek out healing herbs to help them when they are ill or undernourished. In fact, Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of medicine, respected dogs very highly for their ability to seek out and eat medicinal herbs in the wild. This ability is shared by other animals, including cats. We are coming to realise that nature often has the answers – but animals have always known this! Natural medicine can help your pet just as it can help you. While there is always a place for conventional veterinary medicine, natural medicine can complement conventional veterinary care and in many cases do just as well.
Homeopathy for Animals – Homeopathic Veterinary Care
The majority of veterinarians in the United States now practice chemical-based medicine on pets. At the first sign of any health symptom, they slap the animal with a prescription for expensive, patented toxic pharmaceuticals. Arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and even depression are now being treated with dangerous prescription medications. Earlier this year, the FDA gave approval for Prozac, a powerful mind-altering drug, to be prescribed to dogs, and many of the most common drugs for people are now routinely used in pets (including chemotherapy drugs for cancer treatment). However, growing number of veterinarians in this country are turning to homeopathy for the treatment of many animal problems, ranging from allergic reactions and trauma to cancer, and other chronic diseases. Homeopathic veterinary medicine is a safe and effective alternative to conventional veterinary practice.
Owners can now be confident homeopathic medicines can be effective for common canine and feline conditions in many animals, following a recently published clinical study.
In the largest-ever study of its type, the newly published Clinical Outcomes survey has identified a number of clinical conditions in dogs and cats that may be promising targets for future research in veterinary homeopathy.
Twenty-one homeopathic veterinary surgeons in the UK recorded data from their patients over a 12-month period and collected information from a total of 1500 dogs and 400 cats.
The most frequently treated feline conditions overall were dermatitis, renal failure, overgrooming, arthritis and hyperthyroidism. The most commonly recorded canine conditions were dermatitis, arthritis, pyoderma, colitis and fear. By owners’ assessments, a moderate or major improvement was reported overall for 68% of dogs and 63% of cats.
The authors of the study conclude that a programme of controlled research in homeopathy for frequently-treated feline and canine conditions is clearly indicated.
