The main concept of flower essence therapy is that ill health and disease are caused by negative thought patterns or emotions. Thoughts and emotions are vibrational energy of a higher frequency and physical structures in the body are of denser vibrational frequency. Flower essences are of a very high frequency and therefore have the ability to address any energy imbalances on the plane of the emotional/thought level, including a person’s subtle energy bodies. Negative emotional states and behavior patterns create dysfunction ultimately causing blockages in the energy system of the body; this manifest itself in the subtle bodies and If not treated it will eventually manifest in the physical body, in the form of physical illness.

Flower essences can help clear these blockages so a state of equilibrium and good health can return. This is achieved by matching the physical and emotional state of the person to the appropriate energetic frequency of a particular flower essence. I love to put flower essences in with herbs to help the whole body.

To really understand the concept of Flower Essence Therapy it is important to understand How thoughts and emotions affect the physical body

Not so long ago the belief was that messages between the brain and tissues of the body (organs etc) were transmitted only via the nervous system and the nerves, much like an intricate electrical wiring system. Well this is only partly true.

Nowadays through scientific study we also know that there is a lot more to it. Special chemicals called neuropeptites allow the organs and the brain to communicate directly with one another. The neuropeptites have the ability to directly affect our immune and endocrine system. Without neuropeptites, our bodies could not function. Hormones, for example, are neuropeptites, as are endorphins and adrenalin. Every time we have a thought or feeling, our body’s releases these tiny chemical proteins (neuropeptites) there are more than a thousand different neuropeptites–each triggering its own specific physiological effect

These mechanisms can be triggered by emotions and thoughts; therefore every thought and emotion translates into a biochemical process within the body. It stands to reason then that negative emotional states and thoughts create dysfunction in the bodies system. And if these states continue over long periods of time, that it can cause illness.

When our mental and emotional state is out of balance, the resulting neuropeptites cause physical symptoms to appear. Any prolonged negative mental state will weaken a correlating area of your body. This occurs over a prolonged period of time, so that by the time you see symptoms, you’ve held that state of being for quite some time, or you may even no longer have that state of being

For example, anger or fear triggers the release of adrenalin and cortisol. Your palms sweat, heart rate and breathing accelerates, muscles tense, and blood vessels dilate. Recent scientific discoveries show that depression actually causes heart disease. In depressed people the blood platelets become more sticky, clogging arteries and veins.
