Sclerology is the science and art of observing the markings and colourings in the whites of the eyes as designs of compromised health.

Drawings from ancient Chinese text suggest that they knew and practised Sclerology since ancient times. In Europe during the middle ages, illustrations of sclera analysis have been documented, and it is believed that Native American Indians used this method while practising Naturopathic medicine.

The information in the Sclera is complementary to that shown in the irises. Sclerology lends itself well in accompanying iridology practise, and confirming the findings of this science, although it can be skilfully used on it’s own by any astute health practitioner.

The red lines and other markings and colourings in the whites of the eyes actually correspond to real conditions within the body. Their size and shape and various other aspects of configuration and shading describe health qualities. Sclerology is therefore a means of looking into a persons eyes to see what is happening with his/her health – to get a sense of what is most important. It shows exactly where the highest stress and congestion are coming from, how much of the stress is emotional, how much is physical and how much both combined.

The sclera shows more than just the temporary conditions of redness that we commonly see from local eye irritation (as from squinting or other improper use of the eyes, smog or cigarette smoke, getting something caught in the eye). The sclera is continuous with the dura matter of the brain and is capable of showing conditions of health and disease anywhere in the body. Also seen is how these conditions developed, where they originated, if drugs were involved, and more usually long before physical symptoms occur.

A study of sclerology can: • Provide both basic and detailed information on pathology.

• Verify and enhance data obtained by iridology and other health evaluation techniques

• Educate the client on potential pathological conditions BEFORE they manifest as symptoms

• Demonstrate both inherited and developed health (pre) dispositions

• Reveal pathology that is past, current and potential

• Enhance clinical health evaluation practice significantly

A Sclerology report will examine the PRIMARY lines first. These lines are the thickest and deepest which indicate physical pathological conditions and tendencies since birth.

Next are the SECONDARY lines, a little lighter and show more shape and configuration, indicating how much accumulated wear and tear on the body since birth. Last to be examined are the EMOTIONAL lines – the fine surface lines which can change easily and show how much emotional stress is affecting the body and therefore the individual’s health.
